Export Cluster Website Launches

To promote the development of Latvian export projects and the growth of companies in international markets, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK), within the framework of the LEF Network Azerbaijan project, has developed a website – export-cluster.eu. This website will compile various materials and informative resources to help companies expand their operations and competitiveness in foreign markets.

LTRK Participation in the Digital Sector Industry Group and CitiVerse Forum

As part of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) participated in the Digital Sector Industry Group meetings held on June 18-19 in Turin, Italy.

The shadow economy in Latvia is decreasing

The latest data reveals that the volume of the shadow economy in Latvia decreased in 2023 to 22.9% of GDP, a decrease of 3.6 percentage points compared to 2022. In Estonia, there was a slight reduction in the shadow economy for 2023, now at 17.9% of GDP, down from 18.0% in 2022. In contrast, Lithuania saw an increase in its shadow economy in 2023, rising by 0.6 percentage points compared to 2022, reaching 26.4% of GDP.

On Tuesday, 28 May, the Central Baltic - Azerbaijan Business Forum took place at the National Library of Latvia within the framework of the LEF Network Azerbaijan project. The event brought together around 70 participants from Azerbaijan, Latvia, Estonia and Finland.

In order to discuss the possibilities of economic cooperation, on Thursday, November 2, board member of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Katrīna Zariņa, met with Andres Moreno, a candidate for the Bolivian Multinational Honorary State Consul in Latvia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of contact in economic cooperation, the most important of which are technology and green and sustainability innovations.

From 15th to 20 October, the first business visit to Azerbaijan was held together with educational and green technology companies and organizations from Latvia, Estonia and Finland. In order to discuss the promotion of economic cooperation, on August 18, LCCI president Aigars Rostovskis, council member Edvīns Bērziņš and board member Katrīna Zariņa met with the Indian ambassador to Latvia Tanmaya Lal.

Opportunities to continue cooperation in the field of education and science, strengthening of Riga as a transit point for Indian exports to Central Asian countries were discussed, as well as cooperation to support India's rapidly growing space exploration industry with research and technology.
