About half of the territory of the EU consists of marginal rural areas. 23% of population lives in these areas, and another 35% lives in “intermediate”, i.e. not predominantly urban areas. In these marginal territories, we can find low rates of employability and high percentages of unemployment, including significant high rates of young people that are neither in employment nor in education and training – NEET. These are 14,2% of the population aged 15-29 and include a mix of vulnerable and non-vulnerable young people whose situation depends on different factors: socialdemographic factor, educational attainment, registration with PES, different kind of NEET, variations between country clusters.
Aim of the project - EM2 wants to contribute to the strengthening of motivation and the improvement of job opportunities for low-skilled or low-qualified adults and NEET in marginal context, through a balance of competences and self -awareness, in a co-responsibility approach that involves local community, enterprises, educational centres.
