On Thursday, June 22, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The agreement was signed by LCCI president Aigars Rostovskis from the Latvian side, and senior vice president from KCCI Park Dong Min.

For Latvia Korea is an important strategic partner in Asia, and the relations between the countries continue to develop with the common goal of a stable and safe, as well as economically developed Baltic and Indo-Pacific region. The trade volumes of goods between Latvia and Korea are currently not large compared to other countries, but there is an opportunity to develop economic relations, taking into account Korea's high technological development and Latvia's potential as a "gateway" to Europe.

The first talks on strengthening cooperation took place in April this year, when a Korean delegation, including representatives of the KCCI, visited the LCCI.

On June 22, during the meeting, economic cooperation between the two countries and opportunities to expand it were discussed. LCCI President Aigars Rostovskis called for organizing both incoming and outgoing business visits. Korea's interest in organizing the "World Expo in Busan" in 2030 was also discussed.
