In order to discuss the possibilities of attracting bilateral investments, as well as the improvement of economic relations, on July 4, the President of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Aigars Rostovskis met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Latvia Elnur Sultanov (Elnur Sultanov).
Latvia and Azerbaijan have concluded several cooperation agreements in various fields, for example in trade, economy, culture and education.
In turn, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2001.
But since 2015, LCCI representative Ivonna Ķezbere has been working in Azerbaijan.
On June 13 LCCI n cooperation with the Azerbaijani organization "Caspian Energy" and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, organized an international business forum "16th International Caspian Energy Investment Forum Riga 2023".
LCCI is also a leading partner and has started the implementation of the cooperation project "LEF network Azerbaijan" to support the opportunities of Latvian, Estonian and Finnish companies to develop exports to Azerbaijan.
In the next three years, six business visits to Azerbaijan and three business visits from Azerbaijan to Latvia will be organized. Along with business trips, it is planned to organize market research activities, trainings, etc.
