The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in cooperation with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is implementing the project “Support for the Integration of Ukrainian SMEs and Business Support Organizations into the European Single Market, Using Latvia as a Starting Point” (LATUA 2), co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Embassy in Ukraine.

The project supports Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs and public organizations by facilitating their knowledge and networking to facilitate integration into the European Union. Activities include webinars, development of guidelines and business visits to Latvia.

The final activity of the project took place from October 28 to November 2, when a Ukrainian delegation from the waste recycling industry visited Latvia. During the visit, the participants got acquainted with Latvia’s experience in waste sorting, landfill construction and deposit system operation. The delegation visited several companies, including Eco Baltia vide, Getliņi Eko and ZAAO/AEC “Daibe”, as well as participated in B2B events with potential partners, ensuring a wide exchange of experience and discussions with industry experts.

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia met with the delegation representatives to discuss their interests and possible future cooperation opportunities in the field of waste recycling. The delegation also met with representatives of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and the Hatulanus Business Club.

The visit also included a seminar on smart cities and sustainable entrepreneurship, as well as training on intercultural communication.

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
