03.07.2026
On Thursday, July 2, in Tallinn, Latvia’s largest business association, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), in cooperation with the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Estonia, and the Embassy of Estonia in Latvia, presented the Livonian Awards. The awards were granted to Kalve Coffee for its successful operations in Estonia and SK ID Solutions for its achievements in Latvia.
The awards were presented by the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the President of Estonia, Alar Karis. Economic cooperation between Latvia and Estonia is more than trade and investment — it is a strategic partnership with significant growth potential. The aim of the Livonian Awards is not only to honor companies for their achievements but also to inspire other entrepreneurs to seize cross-border cooperation opportunities. The award symbolizes trust, openness, and a shared commitment to developing the economies of both countries.
LCCI Chairperson of the Board Katrīna Zariņa stated:
“Latvia’s and Estonia’s economies are closely connected, and it is entrepreneurs who strengthen this cooperation every day. The Livonian Award demonstrates that cross-border collaboration creates new customers, investments, and growth opportunities in both countries. We are proud of this year’s laureates, whose work proves that the Baltics can be one shared growth market.”
The Livonian Awards were first presented in 2013, initiated by Latvian companies operating in Estonia, showcasing their capabilities and innovative ideas. The purpose of the awards is to recognize companies that successfully develop business in Latvia and Estonia, strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and inspiring other entrepreneurs to expand beyond national borders. The production and presentation of the Livonian Awards have been supported for several years by SIA SAKRET.
“The Livonian Award has for many years recognized companies that successfully operate in both Latvia and Estonia, building strong cross-border business relations and contributing to the economic growth of both countries. In cooperation with the embassies and chambers of commerce of both countries, SAKRET is pleased to support this initiative, as we believe that excellence and the courage to expand beyond national borders are the foundation of sustainable development and competitiveness. We are proud to be part of the award’s story and to support entrepreneurs who strengthen the competitiveness of the Baltic region,” says Andris Vanags, PhD, Deputy Chairman of the Council of SIA SAKRET.
Latvia’s Ambassador to Estonia, Kristīne Lauritsa, emphasized:
“Having worked in Estonia for four years now, I am convinced that the economic cooperation between our countries is broad and diverse. I am especially pleased with the success of our joint efforts in high value-added sectors. Innovation, new technologies, and the integration of science have always been at the center of the embassy’s focus. However, good ideas, creative work, and successful connections are unimaginable without an excellent cup of coffee. Therefore, I am pleased that Kalve’s contribution has been highly appreciated this year.”
“We are truly delighted to take our first step in international growth with our brothers and sisters in Estonia, and we are honored to become part of Tallinn’s specialty coffee community,” said Gatis Zēlmanis, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Kalve Coffee, expressing gratitude for the award.
