About project
- The Silver Up project promotes the exchange of experience and good practices to improve regional development policies.
- Its aim is to make these areas more attractive by using successful policy measures to create a favorable environment for a well-developed silver economy.
- The partnership involves countries from southern, western, eastern and northern Europe, as well as candidate countries, all working together to implement and improve regional policies that support the development of the silver economy by mobilising local and regional stakeholder groups for this process.
- The expected results of Silver Up include improved policy instruments, increased regional attractiveness, and improved quality of life and social inclusion for older people.
- By promoting interregional learning and cooperation, the project aims to create a more socially inclusive and economically sustainable Europe.
Project activities
- Organization of study visits to various countries (Latvia, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Serbia) to share experiences and gain insight into different regions’ approaches to the development of the silver economy;
- Interregional workshops on the following topics:
- The silver economy for the labour market and growth;
- Tourism systems for the third generation;
- Mechanisms for promoting the senior economy;
- Integration of seniors into society;
- Community and capacity building for seniors;
- Opportunities of the silver economy for rural regions;
- Seminar on policy instrument improvements and evaluation of results;
- Management, technical and coordination committee meetings throughout the project
- Regular bilateral meetings between partners to coordinate specific topics;
- Meetings of local stakeholder groups in each country throughout the project;
- Local dissemination and communication activities in partner countries to inform the public and decision makers;
- Monitoring of policy improvements made by partners and exchange of experiences;
- High-level policy closing event with roundtable discussion and closing video presentation.

Each country will implement improvements to selected policy instruments based on the experience gained during study visits and workshops. - Increased capacity of stakeholders
Local support groups will gain an understanding of the economic potential of seniors and opportunities for cooperation. - Strengthening interregional cooperation
Sustainable cooperation links between partners from the EU and candidate countries. - Visibility and publicity
The project results will be widely disseminated at local, national and international level (websites, videos, events, social media).
