Shadow Economy Conference 2026

On Monday, 15 June, the 16th annual Shadow Economy Conference will take place at the SSE Riga Soros Auditorium (Strēlnieku iela 4a, Riga).
According to the latest research, Latvia’s shadow economy continued to decline in 2024, reaching 21.4% of GDP. How has Latvia performed in 2025? The newest data and insights will be revealed during the conference.
During the event, Professor Arnis Sauka, Director of the Sustainable Business Centre at SSE Riga, will present the latest findings from the study “Shadow Economy Index in the Baltic States 2009–2025”, offering an up-to-date overview of shadow economy trends across the region.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring leading experts, policymakers, and business representatives.

The discussion will be moderated by journalist Jānis Domburs.
The conference will take place in person and will also be livestreamed on the LCCI Facebook page, as well as the SSE Riga website and Facebook page. The working language of the conference will be Latvian.
