Practical training on the UN Sustainable Development Goals was conducted in the GreenVET Pathway project
11.02.2025
From 4 to 8 November, the GreenVET Pathway project in Finland organised practical training for vocational education and training institutions. The training focused on integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into vocational education, with a particular emphasis on sustainable skills and green competences, which are essential in the context of future labour market requirements.
Partners from seven countries – Cyprus, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Slovenia and Italy – joined together to share their experiences and jointly develop plans to implement the SDGs more effectively in their organisations. Representatives from Riga State Technical College and Bulduri Technical College participated in the training.
Omnia Education Partnerships hosted the project participants and shared the experience and good practices of the Finnish education system as well as the specific achievements and experience of the Omnia educational institution in implementing the SDGs.
The GreenVET Pathway project is an excellent example of how international cooperation in vocational education can promote the principles of sustainability and help to develop education programmes that meet today’s demands.
The project supports vocational education and training institutions by drawing on diverse experiences and good practices from different countries to form a common platform. The materials developed under the project will be available on the GreenVET project platform: https://green-vet.eu/.
The platform will provide a comprehensive database of good practices and training materials, which will be free for all to use. You will also be able to add your own materials to the platform, thus sharing information that may be useful to other educational institutions.
The GreenVET Pathway project is implemented under the Erasmus+ programme.
