Latvia’s largest business association, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), celebrating its 90th birthday, presented export awards at a gala reception, as well as honoured the most outstanding member companies and personalities in business.
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of its existence, the LCCI hosted a gala reception at Melnaglvju House, attended by the President of Latvia, government representatives, members of the Board of Directors of Eurochambres, foreign diplomats, partners in Latvia and abroad, former and current LCCI staff, and many other distinguished guests. During the event, the LTRK Export Awards – Krišjānis Valdemārs Award “Latvians, Come to the Sea” and “Sprīdītis Award”, as well as special LTRK awards were presented.
The Export Awards are an important award for companies that successfully conquer foreign markets and promote Latvia’s visibility in the world. Krišjānis Valdemārs Award “Latvians, Come to the Sea!” highlights stable companies with significant success in large export markets, while the “Sprīdītis Award” is presented to young companies that demonstrate significant growth and exportability despite their relatively short operating life. This year, the Krišjāņa Valdemārs Award “Latvians, sail the sea” was presented to SIA “TestDevLab”, which specialises in software testing and quality assurance, operates not only in Riga, but also in branches in the largest regional cities of Latvia, and cooperates with world-renowned companies, SIA “Mira Motion Latvia”, which specialises in the production and assembly of electronic components, offering a full range of services – from prototype development to serial production.

Katrīna Zariņa, Member of the Board of the LCCI: “Latvian companies should be proud of their achievements! They should tell the whole world about them! Together we can do a lot! We can also learn from each other and support each other on the road to success! Individually and together – our companies are making the path of growth and prosperity of the Latvian economy! Existing exporters, companies on the road to export, boosters of economic activity in Latvia’s regions – they are our country’s best ambassadors in the wider world! I am glad that we can honour and tell their story louder and more widely, and find ways and opportunities every day to support them in taking the next big leap.”
The awards were given to member companies that make a significant contribution to Latvia’s economic growth and enhance Latvia’s international competitiveness and to entrepreneurs who promote sustainable practices and creative approaches to business, which are critical to Latvia’s long-term economic development. The LTRK award in the category “Enterprise for Latvia” went to SIA “DEPO DIY” as a company that is a significant player in the Latvian market and contributes not only to the local economy, but also to national growth. The LCCI award for contribution to the promotion of modern entrepreneurship was presented to Jānis Krievāns, Chairman of the Board of “Junior Achievement Latvia”. Andris Bite, Member of the Board, Co-owner of SIA “Karavela” and President of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia, received the award for his long-term contribution to the development of the business environment. Vilnis Rantiņš, founder and council member of the Association of Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Industries, was honoured for his lifetime contribution to the development of the business environment.

Aigars Rostovskis, President of the LCCI, Vice President of EUROCHAMBRES: “It is very important to say ‘thank you’ to those people and companies who contribute to the development of the business environment, represent the interests of entrepreneurs and think about future entrepreneurs, as well as those who have dedicated their entire lives to working in an industry, contributing to the growth of that industry. Therefore, on the occasion of its 90th anniversary, the LCCI presented awards and thanked those who have contributed not only to the development of the economy, but also to the development of Latvia as a whole.”
Jānis Endziņš, Chairman of the Board of the LCCI, adds: “Entrepreneurs are the part of society that sustains the country, because the country would not exist without the businesses, jobs and tax revenues created by entrepreneurs, so the least we can do is say thank you once in a while to these enterprising people who are true patriots of Latvia every day!”
