About project

BuildGreen – Korea project helps Central Baltic sustainable construction SMEs enter one of Asia’s most advanced and innovation-driven building markets.

Although companies from Estonia, Finland, and Latvia already have strong expertise in sustainable and industrialised construction, entering distant markets like Korea remains challenging due to unfamiliar business environments, fragmented market approaches, and limited international visibility.

Instead of one-off promotional activities, the project aims to build long-term business opportunities and create a trust-based market entry corridor between the Central Baltic region and Korea.

Project activities

  • Korean market analysis and positioning;
  • SME training sessions in hybrid format on Korean business culture, legal frameworks, market entry models, pricing and negotiation strategies;
  • Development of a joint export offering;
  • Testing and validation of construction solutions in collaboration with Korean research institutes;
  • Study visits and trade missions to Korea;
  • Development of a digital guidebook;
  • Establishment and maintenance of local representation in South Korea throughout the project;
  • Stakeholder seminars and workshops in Korea;
  • Hosting incoming delegations from Korea in the Central Baltic region.

Project results

  • Export-ready SMEs
    • SMEs from the Central Baltic region’s construction, digital building and architecture sectors will receive structured non-financial support for entering the Korean market — market analysis, training and involvement in joint offering development.
  • New sales contracts in new markets
    • Central Baltic SMEs will achieve actual sales or sign contracts in the South Korean construction market — during the project or within one year after its completion.
  • Trust and brand building in Korea
    • Through a Korean-language website, PR campaigns and media activities, the Central Baltic region will be positioned as a reliable provider of sustainable and digital construction solutions in the Korean market.
  • Sustainable export support tools
    • The digital guidebook, joint export offering and training materials will remain available within partner organisations and be integrated into their regular export advisory services beyond the project’s lifetime.
