The Prime Ministers of Latvia and Lithuania will discuss closer Baltic cooperation with business organisations from both countries

On Thursday, 30 October, at the premises of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Siliņa and the Prime Minister of Lithuania Inga Ruģiniene will meet with LCCI and the Lithuanian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (ALCCIC), as well as representatives of entrepreneurs from both countries.
During the meeting, it is planned to discuss the strengthening of economic cooperation between the Baltic States, the creation of a joint regional brand “The Baltics” and the development of a unified, competitive business environment.
On the Latvian side, LCCI President Aigars Rostovskis, Head of the Latvian Institute of Strategy and Economic Research (LaSer) Daunis Auers, as well as LCCI Council members Ģirts Rungainis and Māris Simanovičs will participate.
The Lithuanian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts will be represented by its president Sigits Gailiūnas, at the same time the president of the Panevėžys Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and other business representatives.
Within the framework of the meeting, the main conclusions of the study “Baltic Tiger” will be discussed – scenarios for the future development of the Baltic region and opportunities to deepen cooperation both in the economic and security fields.
The aim of the conversation is to strengthen the common vision of the Baltic region, to promote cooperation in the fields of investment, export and business environment, as well as to identify practical steps, including cooperation in networks of embassies and investment agencies, harmonisation of the regulation of tax systems and development of the idea of a common Baltic Business Register.
